Awards were presented at the Annual Club Dinner & the September Supporters Club Draw was made.

The September Supporters Club draw was made during the hugely enjoyable Annual Club Dinner on 12th October at the Sussex County Ground. The winners were :

  • £250 - #11 - Greg Hetherton
  • £100 - #1 - Chris Grammer
  • £50 - #41 - Dave Mates

Many thanks to everyone for their support throughout the year. The winners will receive their prizes in the next few days.

As you will have seen from the photo album, the Player of the Season awards were also given out at the dinner. Many congratulations to all of the winners and we wish them plenty more success next season.

1st Team Player of the Season : Simon Hetherton
Simon also won the Premier League Top Bowler Award for his 49 wickets.
Both awards were presented by Club Coach Matt Machan to Simon's Mum Rose, as Simon was at home awaiting the arrival of his first child with his partner Ruby.

2nd Team Player of the Season : Paul Hardwick
Paul's all round batting, bowling & captaincy was a major factor in the fairly young & inexperienced 2nd XI comfortably staying in Division 3, the highest standard a 2nd XI can play. We wish Paul all the best from across the club as he sadly leaves us to take on a new teaching role in London.

3rd Team Player of the Season : Matt Whippey
Matt cemented his place at the top of the order with plenty of valuable runs, while his leg spin became the skippers biggest wicket taking threat.

4th Team Player of the Season : Ian Parker
Bluey's 353 runs put him 5th in the overall league placings while he was also 5th for wicket keeping dismissals and as Brothers Vice-Captain, he can take a good deal of credit for the 4's back to back promotions.

5th Team Player of the Season : Dan Mouland
Dan's 19 wickets placed him 3rd in the overall league and was a major contributor to the 5's gaining promotion this year.

Womens Player of the Season : Emily Kirby-Jones
Emily's runs and all round contribution over the year resulted in a popular and well deserved winner.

Special mention to Andy Scott & Pete Underwood who shared the Clubman of the Year award for all of the work they do around the club and in Pete's case, the organisation of the hugely successful Boys Colts over the past few years.

The club were thrilled to receive the Most Improved Pitch of the Year from the Sussex League, especially after the issues that we have had with pitch & ground preparation in recent times. All of the credit for this award must go to Andy Scott who has worked tirelessly with our ground contractor and the council to drive improvements to both the pitch and outfield. Well done Andy, congratulations.
