Not quite snow yet, but plenty of activity around the club over the winter

Welcome to our Winter Newsletter which contains important information about our AGM and other upcoming events. Please take the time to read it and if you have any questions or feedback, please contact info@brightonandhovecricketclub.co.uk

AGM Notification
This years Annual General Meeting takes place on Thursday 28th November in the Nevill Clubhouse, starting at 7:30pm. This is an important meeting for our club members to hear from their committee about the club’s activities this past year and the plans for the coming years.

We are looking for volunteers to take on the critical roles of Mens Cricket Manager, Sponsorship Manager & Sussex League Representative. If you think you could help us in these roles, please contact info@brightonandhovecricketclub.co.uk

As you may be aware, the Hockey Club no longer share the clubhouse with us so its vitally important for the club to generate increased funds to support ourselves over the winter. We will share with you the plans we have to achieve this and would ask that you support us in every way possible while we transition from our previous arrangement with the Hockey.

Nevill Firework Display
We will be running the bar again at this years Firework Display on Saturday 2nd November. This year we are offering members tickets to the bar & patio for £8 Adults/£4 Children (on the door price is £12/£6) where you will get food included in the price, access to the indoor bar and a great view of the fireworks.

This event is ‘the’ major fundraiser for the club and takes a huge amount of effort to organise & run it. If you can spare some time to help protect the squares in the couple of weeks before or during the actual day or evening, or would like tickets to the event, then please let Peter Underwood know at peter.underwood@energizeevents.com. We will need at least 10 volunteers so please help if you can.

Club Functions in the Clubhouse
Now that the Hockey club aren’t using the clubhouse in the Winter, we have planned a Quiz Night on Friday 22nd November, a Christmas Party in mid-December (date to be confirmed) and we will be showing the last day of the Six Nations Rugby on Saturday 14th March. Please support these events as they will generate essential revenue to cover the loss of the Hockey’s contributions. Keep an eye on Facebook, Twitter & our website for more details of these events.

If any member is looking for a venue for a private function then why not use the Nevill Clubhouse. We’ve already hosted birthday parties, weddings, wakes and office functions/meetings so for more details or to book, please contact Peter Underwood at peter.underwood@energizeevents.com.

Sponsorship
Our sponsors provide us with invaluable funds and the least we can do to thank them is to use their services whenever possible. Please see the links on this website and try to use them or recommend them to friends & family. Don’t forget to mention you are from B&H CC.

We have lost a few sponsors this year so we desperately need to replace them. If there is any chance that you or your company could provide sponsorship then please contact info@brightonandhovecricketclub.co.uk. We have packages for all pockets so please ask your company if they could help and we can make contact with them.

Supporters Club
Our monthly Supporters Club is a great way for members, supporters, vice presidents, friends & families to support the club. A ticket costs £10 per month with opportunities to win prizes of £250, £100 & £50 each month during the season. If all members could try to sell 1 ticket it would make a huge difference to the club’s finances. Please fill in this Application Form and return it to any committee member.

Volunteers
All amateur sports clubs rely on its volunteers to keep them afloat. We can always do with more help both during the season and in the off-season. If you think you could spend a few hours helping around the ground or by taking on a role or in any other capacity, then please reply to this email and we can discuss how best we could use your time.
