The Under 12s indoor team picked up the trophy in style this weekend, finishing the season undefeated with 10 wins from 10.

A run of excellent performances saw the team dominate the first stage of the league, with no opposition able to run them close - highlights included bowling out strong Ditchling and Nomads teams for 40-odd runs after posting sizeable totals. In the second phase of the competition they had to play the 3 top teams again, but they kept the momentum going, easing past St. Matthias and Preston Nomads to take the title with a game to spare.

Time and again the boys demonstrated how to take control of a game of cricket through accurate bowling. The tightest attack in the league put huge pressure on the opposing batsmen - if they weren't being bowled out, the need to keep scoring in such a short form of the game meant that they had to take risks and the run-outs inevitably followed. With Felix generally behind the stumps, Brad, Ollie Alfie, Teddy, Kyle and Matthew bowled a consistently good line, giving very little away and each contributing with several wickets.

Batting in indoor league is very different and the boys did well, using the corners and accruing runs calmly to keep wickets in hand while building good totals. Kyle and Felix did especially well, with Felix reaching the retirement limit of 25 eight times out of ten, once going on to make a fifty.

Apart from the core squad above, there were important contributions from several others, and the overall attitude and team spirit bode well for the summer.

Congratulations to everybody involved on a fantastic achievement.
