A devastating spell of bowling from Kyle Masters set up a straight forward win for the u15s at the Nevill. A wicket with the second ball of the match and a triple wicket maiden in his second over left Southwick reeling at 8 for 5 after 3 overs with Connor Atherton chipping in with the other wicket. More wickets from Joe Davies, Aidan Russell and Alpha Briggs (with his first ball) left the visitors at 25 for 8 after 7 overs. Charlie Hodge then stepped up and completed the innings with his opening two balls, the first thanks to a terrific slip catch by Joey Vance and the second clean bowled.
Captain Finn stepped up to open the batting with Merlin and they made a solid start defending some very good pace bowling. When Merlin was dismissed looking to move the score on, Tarun came in and saw the game out, finishing on 10 not out.
Overall a very good first performance of the season but there will be sterner tests to come.
