U14s reach The Cup Final

A tremendous performance that saw the boys register their highest score of the season. Asked to bat first some excellent attacking play from Connor, Leo and Samir saw all three retired early on. Some great team play then saw the rest of the team go for it without worrying about their own score. Connor returned, with two overs to go, to bring up his fifty with some lusty hitting. 170 was a great score against some accurate bowling from Portslade. Portslade got off to a fast start but were pegged back by regular wickets with Louis and Rowan in the wickets again. Connor bowled everybody except himself in a good team performance in the field. Portslade finished on 123 for 7.
This win means we have reached the SAYCL Cup Final on 29th July (venue TBC). This is remarkably the fourth time in a row we have done so as a squad within our age group. So well done U14s. The Final will be against Preston Nomads who won their semi final on the same evening.
