Under 13s vs Burgess Hill

Put into bat by Burgess Hill, Brighton started positively, despite losing Felix in the third over. Alfie and Kyle pushed on, setting a rate of 7 per over, and both retiring after excellent innings. Finley added a quick 14 and Brad and Matt continued their improvement with the bat to add 21 and 19 respectively. Aidan added 5 more and with wickets in hand there was some high-risk cricket at the death resulting in several wickets but not many more runs. We finished on a season best of 129 for 8.
Coming up the hill, Kyle was at his absolute best - deadly quick and straight - removing their number 1 and 3 in the third and fourth balls of the first over. From 0 for 2 they fell to 9 for 3 in his next over and the game was pretty much done. Kyle finished with 4 for 8, Brad 2 for 11, Luke took another wicket, Felix and Aidan took brilliant catches, but most important was another great fielding display, with stand out performances from Joel and Charlie who stopped everything that came their way.
