4th win in a row takes Under 13s joint top

St Peters I came to the Nevill undefeated and top of the league, but were dismantled by another excellent team performance by Brighton and Hove.
Cunningly losing the toss and put in to bat, in-form Alfie and Felix started with singles and soon pushed the run rate to 6 per over. The noise in the field dropped significantly as both Felix and then Alfie reached retirement on 26, and it wasn't until the 10th over that St Peters had their first wicket when Kyle was caught as Brighton look to push on with wickets in hand. Matt watched the ball well, hitting the loose ones for boundaries and also getting to 26, as Charlie and Jacob both ran well and hit 4s for 10 and 11 respectively. A final flurry saw Max slap a last over no ball beamer for 4 and help push us to 129 for 6 in the 20 overs, a very good total especially when St Peters didn't bowl a single wide.
St Peters started solidly but our bowling and fielding kept the runs down and when Alfie bowled their opener with the first ball of the fourth over the pressure was starting to build. A couple of tight overs from Felix and Matt meant that they were on 3 per over when they needed twice that. Two overs later and it was effectively all done and dusted. A nice catch by Alfie at wide mid-off from Felix's bowling, then a lovely stumping by Finley in the same over piled on the pressure. Our improving fielding reaped rewards as Matt threw in for one run out, then Felix took a caught and bowled to end with 3 for 4. The batsmen tried to take two runs as the ball went through the ring field, but James was too quick and accurate and St Peters were now 22 for 6 after 9 overs and the result wasn't in doubt. Charlie bowled a couple of tight overs and James took a wicket with his first ball and ended with 2 for 19. The last four overs went for a few and St Peters finished on 93 for 8, but our positive batting and pressure in the field had long ensured a comfortable and well-deserved win that takes us joint top of the league with Nomads and St Peters, all having lost one game so far.
