u13s start league season with a win

The Brighton & Hove u13s got their season off to a flying start with a good win in a hard fought, high-scoring match at the Nevill.

Ditchling batted first and played very well with Aiden scoring an unbeaten 34 including eight 4s. Freddie made 25 before retiring and Ted also contributed a useful 22. The Brighton & Hove bowling and fielding was a bit wayward although Kyle did bowl well, conceding just 3 runs off his two overs. Harry and Alpha also bowled well with Alpha also taking a run out off his own bowling.

With a stiff target of 154 to beat, Brighton & Hove made an excellent start with Alex and Ollie H putting on 60 in the first six overs. When Alex retired on 28 Ollie was joined by Kyle who also made 28 before retiring. Ollie hit one fantastic six before being caught for 24 going for one more big shot. Jack, Aidan and Ollie G made useful contributions with Ollie G hitting the winning 4 with an over to spare.

Ollie H got the match ball for his batting performance and magnificent six.
