After winning the toss and putting the St. James' team in to bat, we continued our excellent form with the ball on what was admittedly a difficult pitch for batting. Alfie and Matthew bowled a maiden each to get the game underway, with Matthew picking up a wicket in the third over to make it 0 for 1. Bradley started his spell with a wicket maiden (making the score 7 for 2 after 5 overs) and picked up another wicket soon after. Apart from a couple of loose overs it was a great all-round performance, keeping all the opposing batsmen in single figures except one who made 26. Bradley's figures of 3 for 9 off 3 overs were a just reward for keeping it simple and bowling straight, while Finley took 3 catches behind the stumps.
Chasing 64 to win we got off to a slow start and found ourselves at 17 for 2 after 8 overs. Enter Finley, who scored a blistering 22 in a matter of minutes, including a massive six. After he was caught we got stuck again and some good bowling from St. James' took the game right down to the wire.
Boundaries from Fraser and Brad took us to level scores at 63, and when we lost our last wicket with one ball of the game remaining a tie seemed a fair result.
