After two rained off matches the under 11s got their festival off to an excellent start with a comprehensive win against Middleton.
Ollie Hawes scored a useful 15 to open the innings but the stars of the show were Aidan and Kyle who built a batting partnership of 100 in our total of 174 with Kyle remaining not out on 45 at the end. They then opened the bowling and took two wickets each in their first two overs. With tight bowling by Joey and Harry, the visitors were left on 14 for 4 after 7 overs.
A solid partnership by George Fountian (15) and Phoenix Ashworth (16) then helped Middleton build a score but that was finally broken by Scott with an excellent ball which took off stump. Alpha chipped in with a couple of wickets aided by Joey with a good catch. It was then left to Kyle to round off the match with a hat-trick.
Kyle was duly crowned man of the match was his 45 not out plus bowling figures of 5 wickets for 1 run.
